Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting Street, presents its annual spring "Seconds Please" Tea Room, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Friday and Saturday, May 22 & 23 and May 29 & 30. During this celebratory 200th year at the church, the ladies will offer a special bi-centennial combo of soup (okra or gazpacho), your choice of half sandwich and spinach salad, served with potato salad and fruit $12.00, or with Charleston She Crab Soup $14.00. Also on the menu are various homemade delicious sandwiches, quiche, salads, desserts and beverages. Our friendly church has fantastic chefs and servers, air cooled dining room and is located on historic grounds featuring the Piccolo Spoleto Arts & Craft Show. Proceeds go to church missions. BEN TIMPSON Ben assembles miniature compositions on slide film at his light table which are sometimes viewed through magnifying lenses. He then enlarges the compositions using photographic techniques. Ben has captured a style that trades traditional notions of painting and collage for an evocative visual alchemy. KARIN OLAH Using fabric, Karin works in a manner that mimics the flow of paint from a brush. Intricately cut, placed, and pasted textiles are combined with gouache, acrylic, and graphite to create collage paintings that are deep in color and texture. She has been featured in various art publications and has been a part of the Charleston art scene since 2003. Thoughts in the Breeze Wafting

DOROTHY NETHERLAND Painting in reverse on multiple, stacked panes of glass, and using vintage women's magazines as source material, Dorothy's work incorporates hand-drawn and screen printed imagery. She received a BA in Studio Art from the College of Charleston in 2000. Dorothy's work has been shown in the SC State Museum, and the Greenville County Museum of Art. JONATHAN BRILLIANT Through weaving, stacking, arranging, and mold-making fused with pre and post-consumer manufactured materials, Jonathan creates labor intensive installations with a traditional craft based sensibility. Jonathan recieved a B.A. in Studio Art from the College of Charleston, and has recieved the Bridge Art Fair Emerging Artist Prize. The Dam Stuhltrager piece The Sumter Piece Jonatha

ISHMAEL Ishmael taps into his immense knowledge of graffitit techniques to produce works on canvas. He experiments and captures jaw dropping effects by burning and maniplating his medium, spray paint. Ishmael was born in Madrid to Cuban parents, and raised in South West Miami where he taught himself to paint. He adpoted his name from the book by Daniel Quinn, which focuses on rebelling against the status quo. Remember when we battled without guns? Battle Cry

Tammerlin fuses traditional folk with innovative sounds that will create a new, varied folk art. Sugar Hill's performance is inspired by and will honor those who fought in the Civil War, along with a salute to the veterans of World War II and the Vietnam conflict. A little something for everyone of all ages. Whether it be a military function or a civilian performance, the 208th Army Band is prepared to provide exceptional concert music for their audience. The primary mission of the band is to promote the espirit de corps for our fighting forces, and to serve as a goodwill ambassador throughout North and South Carolina. Admission: Free Piccolo Spoleto needs your help going green with this through-the-decades themed block party, produced by the talented Office of Cultural Affairs interns. Entertainment ranges from an 80's cover band and break dancers to local performers playing today's music and includes performances by Quiana Parler & Friends, Bueller, and Spaced Invaders. This event also takes you through the 80's to today while highlighting how far we have come through the last few years environmentally. Step out on our "green carpet" dressed in your favorite 80's or 90's attire or get creative and make an outfit out of recycled materials. This free event promises to bring out the next generation of "green" Piccolo Spoleto enthusiasts to party through the decades into a "greener" tomorrow. NOTE: Join us for the official "after-party" at Wild Wing Cafe in the Market!!! Bluegrass on The Green SUNDAY, MAY 31: 12NOON-4PM Marion Square, King & Calhoun Sts. Admission: Free Other Brother Entertainment and The Charleston City Paper present the first annual "Bluegrass on the Green," a free music concert set in beautiful Marion Square. Bring your blankets and bask in the sun while listening to the rootsy Bluegrass sounds of this year's headliner and local favorite, Common Ground.
